Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Kuala Lumpur has commenced operation on 10 December 2025

The Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office (ETO) of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSARG) in Kuala Lumpur commenced operation today (10 December).

The Kuala Lumpur ETO is the fourth ETO set up by the HKSARG in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) region, following the ETOs in Singapore, Jakarta and Bangkok.  Following the establishment of Kuala Lumpur ETO, the four ETOs in the ASEAN region will continue to step up trade and investment promotion work in the countries under their purview while gradually expanding coverage to deepen economic and trade ties with ASEAN and neighbouring countries, and enhance Hong Kong’s status as an international trade centre.
